    Dick Leatherman served as a Manager of Education and Training for the 3M Company, and then spent twenty-five years as the CEO of International Training Consultants, Inc. (ITC). He successfully grew ITC from a one-person organization to a major producer of training packages, videos, and assessment instrumentation, and served as the Chairman of the Board. On his retirement from ITC, he taught full time at the University of Richmond, where he was an Associate Professor and the Academic Program Director of Human Resource Management for the School of Continuing Studies. After retiring from the University, Dick now conducts training workshops on a variety of leadership topics for private, public, and non-profit organizations and is a voracious writer of academic and professional books.

    Dr. Leatherman is widely recognized for his pioneering work in the areas of trainer training, employee development, and needs assessment instrumentation. He has taught Leadership, Human Resource Management, Human Resource Development, Organizational Behavior, and Marketing.

      Lecturer

      Conducted 120 hours of leadership training for three groups (40 hours per group) at Hanover Fire & Rescue, including the chief, deputy chiefs, division chiefs, battalion chiefs, captains, and almost all of their lieutenants.

      Facilitated a leadership workshop for the Richmond Sheriff’s Command Staff.

      Conducted two-day leadership workshops for new leaders for Henrico County Police Department, Portsmouth Police Department, Chesterfield Police Department and Fairfax Police Department.
