Apply & Register for Classes
Please review the following step-by-step application, registration and payment instructions. In order to qualify for the deeply discounted tuition of $800, educators must apply and receive approval to register at the discounted rate. Upon receiving approval to register, you’ll be invited to register yourself online in the class or classes of your choosing. This procedure is outlined in the tabs below.
You may enroll in a maximum of 6 semester hours (generally 2 classes) each semester.

1. Review Classes
Available Classes
Review the list of classes to read class descriptions, see schedules and class locations, and learn about the professors by following their name links.
Record the 5-digit CRN (course registration number) for the course(s) you’re interested in taking. You’ll need that CRN for Step 3: Register.
Review Licensure Renewal Requirements
Visit the Virginia Department of Education Licensure page for details on renewal requirements. Graduate classes count 90 points toward total renewal requirements. Be sure classes you plan to take will address any additional endorsement or licensure requirements.
Contact your division professional development officer or licensure officer for additional information, or contact the Virginia DOE directly.

6. Prep for Class
The following resources will help you navigate your University of Richmond classroom experience.
Check Your Email Regularly
Once you activate your network account, use your network account credentials to access your University of Richmond email.
You must use your UR email for all course-related messages, and all messages sent from SPCS and UR will be sent to your UR email address.
Your invoice and payment notices will be sent to your UR email address.
Access Blackboard
Many instructors set up classes in Blackboard, the campus learning management system (LMS). If your instructor has set up your class in Blackboard, you must log into Blackboard prior to the start of class using your network account credentials.
Order a Parking Permit
Please contact Parking Services to register your vehicle and secure a parking permit. Vehicles can be registered online or in person at the Parking and Transportation office in the Special Programs Building. Parking permits are valid from August to July.
All vehicles on campus must be registered and display a current parking permit or temporary parking pass. The SPCS parking permit allows the vehicle to be parked in lots C61 and C66 off College Road, the G Permit sections lot U6 off of UR Drive, and lot W87, Modlin Center parking lot off Westhampton Way. Faculty and staff lots are available to SPCS student vehicles after 5pm Monday through Friday.
Confirm Payment Details & Final Course Location
Use BannerWeb to make, complete or confirm tuition payment and review the final class location. Some class location changes may occur without notice up to the first day of class.
Find Your Classroom
Use a Campus Map to make your way to campus, find your classroom building and identify the nearest eligible parking lot. Faculty & staff parking lots are available to SPCS students after 5 p.m.
Purchase Required Texts and Materials
Purchase your textbooks online at the UR Bookstore, or contact the University Bookstore at (804) 289-8491. Some professors may post required text purchases in Blackboard. You must activate your network account to access Bannerweb, Blackboard, and email.
