Bachelor's Degrees
Our bachelor’s degrees require 120 semester hours and accept up to 60 semester hours of approved transfer credit into the degree.
Our Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts (BALA) majors are ideal for community college students transferring an associate of arts degree into either the Liberal Arts major or the Interdisciplinary Studies major. Our BALA majors require Language and Cultural Studies coursework.
Our Bachelor of Science in Professional Studies (BSPS) majors are ideal for community college students transferring an associate of science degree into our Data Analytics, HR Management, Information Security, IT Management and Paralegal Studies majors. Our BSPS majors require Professional Studies coursework.
Undergraduate minors in Data Analytics, Information Systems, HR Management and Paralegal Studies are available for students seeking to supplement a major with specialized knowledge in a related or adjacent field. Minors require 18 semester hours and can be included among General Distribution and General Education coursework in the bachelor’s degree.

Students majoring in Liberal Arts who have completed six (6) semester hours (or equivalent) in language coursework with a grade of “C” or better may earn waivers for IDST304U and IDST305U. Credits from a study abroad experience may also count toward the six-hour requirement.
Students majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies (online only) must take IDST306U as part of the course of study.
Students who wish to switch from the major in Interdisciplinary Studies to the major in Liberal Arts and who have passed IDST306U with a grade of 'C' or better may earn waivers for IDST304U and IDST305U.
Students who pass IDST304U, IDST305U, or IDST306U may not take the courses again for repeated credit in the BALA program (to include both Liberal Arts and Interdisciplinary Studies majors).
GENERAL DISTRIBUTION
60 semester hours. Coursework selected from across the curriculum. Undergraduate minors (combined with the major in Liberal Arts only) may be drawn from this area. Foundation Coursework, if required, counts toward General Distribution.Online Interdisciplinary Studies Exceptions
Online Interdisciplinary Studies students combine General Education and General Distribution requirements. 60 semester hours total required, 45 hours prior to transfer to University of Richmond. Foundation Coursework requirements except MATH103U are built in the 60-hour Interdisciplinary Studies major for online students.
