Certificate in Information Security

Program Announcement

Please be advised that this program will be discontinued. Summer 2026 is the last term in which new students may apply.

Currently enrolled students are not impacted by the change, and we will work with students individually to ensure that they meet their degree requirements and graduate.

Additional details about changes to our academic programs can be found here.

We offer an undergraduate certificate in Information Security, which requires an earned bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university.

Our focused curriculum is complemented by small class sizes (the average is 12-15) and adjunct professors who are themselves working professionals in the information security field. The result is opportunities to learn cutting-edge theory from teaching practitioners and to apply that theory on the job — sometimes the very next day.

Certificate of Applied Studies

As IT security needs evolve, continuing education is essential for current and new IT professionals to enhance their skills in protecting networks, systems and architecture.

Our Certificate in Applied Studies (CAS) in Information Security prepares IT professionals for these challenges. The certificate provides a credential for students changing careers, professional development for seasoned IT professionals or the prerequisites for graduate study in information security. Check out careers available for information security professionals.

The CAS in Information Security requires 21 semester hours. The certificate is offered online with select courses available on campus.
