We’re the School of Professional & Continuing Studies (SPCS), the continuing and professional education unit of the University of Richmond (UR). UR is a private, regionally accredited liberal arts school with stellar national reputation and rankings. SPCS shares the resources of the University throughout the Richmond community with tuition costs that are comparable to state school tuition.
We partner with the Virginia Association of Independent Schools (VAIS) to meet the learning needs of Richmond’s independent educators. We support VAIS as an academic partner, attending events regularly and providing teacher education and leadership expertise.
Career Advancement at UR
At SPCS, our Graduate Education program offers master’s degrees in Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Leadership and Policy Studies, and Teaching. We also offer discounted graduate education classes for professional development. Our partnership offers VAIS member school employees a 20% discount on our graduate Education, Nonprofit Studies and HR Management programs along with a 10% discount on Institute on Philanthropy professional programs.
