The School of Professional and Continuing Studies has partnered with the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) to provide the SHRM Learning System®, a comprehensive review of the entire body of HR knowledge that prepares you to take either the SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP exam. This intensive program combines expert instruction with the SHRM Learning System so you will learn faster, retain more knowledge and stay on track for success on the exam.
This program is ideal for:
- HR professionals seeking a comprehensive review before taking the SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification exams
- HR specialists seeking to broaden their competency and knowledge of current HR practices
- SHRM-CP level professionals seeking to upgrade their certification to SHRM-SCP

Can I earn recertification credits taking this course?
If you have already earned the SHRM Certification you can obtain up to 36 professional development credits (if you are attending this program for professional development only).

Are make-up options available if I miss a class?
Yes. With advanced notice, requests to make up a missed class may be accommodated by the instructor.

How do I attend a class?
Two enrollment options are available. Students may register to attend classes in person on UR campus or attend weekly, synchronous zoom classes.

Can I ask the instructor questions during the online sessions?
Yes! Robust discussion is encouraged.

Do I need to purchase the SHRM Learning System separately?
No. The SHRM Learning System is included with this program. There are no additional costs.

How long is the course?
Each course is 12 weeks long.

Is the SHRM exam included with this course?
This course does not include the final exam or exam fee. Practice exams are included. However, students who are interested in purchasing an exam voucher through UR may do so at a discounted rate after the first class session.
