Peer Program

The Student Government Association (SGA) Peer Program is designed to help SPCS students succeed in returning to school. This program connects new students to other SPCS students with similar experiences. The program offers new students an experienced peer mentor who can share information about resources on campus, easing the adjustment of returning to school.

Peers are available to answer questions on any range of topics, from informal advice about which professors to choose to the best study spots on campus.

Coordinated with the Peer Program, SGA helps new students ease into the life of the University by providing an informal walking tour of the campus to show students where classes are held.

With their peers, new students can discover campus resources like the Speech Center, the Writing Center and the Academic Skills Center—resources that provide assistance with topics like time management and effective study habits, test-taking techniques, academic writing and oral presentations.

It’s simple to get started. Just fill out the Peer Program form and submit it to the SGA President, and you will receive an email from your selected peer to help you get started on the road to success.

The SGA welcomes you to the University of Richmond and the School of Professional & Continuing Studies. We’re here for you.
