    Garrett Stern is the Senior Program Manager for Noncredit Professional Development at the School of Professional and Continuing Studies. He graduated with a B.A in Anthropology from James Madison University. As an undergraduate at James Madison University, Garrett served as the Program Coordinator of the Harrisonburg Farmers Market and co-founded and directed the Valley Crop Mob, a service organization dedicated to helping local and sustainable agricultural enterprises in the Shenandoah Valley.

    After graduating from JMU in 2011, Garrett worked as a research specialist at JMU's Institute for Energy and Environmental Research and built university to community partnerships for sustainability initiatives.

    He also served as an AmeriCorps NCCC Field Team Leader, managing a team of 10 Corps members on projects related to environmental-sustainability and community-development. Most recently, Garrett completed a one-year teaching contract at the Thai-Chinese International School in Bangkok, Thailand, where he taught biology and music.
