Part 1: Summer Training (JOI)
The Joan Oates Institute (JOI) is a 5-day course held in-person at the University of Richmond. Join us for transformative professional development for PK-12 educators, teaching artists, and community experts.
You can register for:
- Professional learning (up to 50 recertification hours)
- Graduate credit (discounted tuition rate)
- Current UR student (elective degree credit)
Part 2: School-Year Project (JOIFIL)
Educators from divisions in the Partners in the Arts (PIA) consortium can attend the summer institute at no cost, and then apply their training during the following school year.
- Work with Partners in the Arts staff and community experts
- Plan and implement your project in your school or community
