    Kristen has worked in education as a classroom teacher for over twenty-seven years in first, second, fourth, and as a gifted resource teacher. She is a nationally board-certified educator specializing in Exceptional Needs Gifted. Kristen received her M.Ed. of with a concentration in gifted education at the University of Virginia and previously earned her B.S. from Radford University with specialized concentrations in exceptional needs and social sciences.

    Kristen is also finishing her certification in Orton-Gillingham, a specialized reading instruction program for students with dyslexia/dysgraphia. Kristen has been awarded as a 2025 finalist for the prestigious R. E. B. award for outstanding educators in the Richmond area.

    Kristen currently serves as a gifted advisory council member for Henrico County Public Schools as well as the chair for several school and community committees. Kristen has one son who is a rising senior at a local high school where he is an avid athlete and busy with college tours.
