Dr. Terri Perkins began working in public education in the state of Virginia in 1989. She has served in every level of PK-12 instruction, as a high school teacher, elementary school specialist, principal of an upper elementary school, central office leader, and director of a regional science program. Perkins researched the implementation of policy in local districts as a part of her Ed.D. capstone at the University of Virginia.
Dr. Perkins now serves as the Director of Curriculum Development and Support for Chesterfield County Public Schools, where she oversees all curricular content areas in grades K to 12. She has been an adjunct instructor at VCU’s School of Education in the Department of School Leadership since 2019 and is interested in the development of teachers as leaders in our public schools.
