    Tracy Nicholson is an assistant professor of human resource management in the School of Professional & Continuing Studies. She teaches graduate classes and serves as chair of the human resource management program. Her scholarship interests are focused on human resource management, public and nonprofit management, and organization theory.

    Prior to her teaching role in higher education, Dr. Nicholson served in HR leadership roles in higher education, state and local government sectors. Her roles as a program evaluator and employment coach in community-based nonprofit organizations led to her study of decision-making in nonprofit organizations.

    Dr. Nicholson’s dissertation examined decision-making by front line staff in community-based nonprofit organizations and the impact of those decisions on clients’ access to social service programs. She continues to conduct and publish research on human resource management and social policy implementation within and across the public and private sectors.
