Osher Institute celebrates 20th anniversary at Triple Crossing brewery
Osher Update
The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Richmond held a 20th anniversary celebration event at Triple Crossing - Fulton brewery on Thursday, August 14. The celebration was UR Osher’s final commemorative event; the Institute held monthly events throughout the 2024-2025 anniversary year. More than 100 Osher members attended, enjoying music by Osher member and musician Wade Reynolds.
The Osher Institute launched its 20th anniversary celebration last September with its annual back-to-school gathering, followed by an Osher celebratory luncheon, a Vino and Trio reception and opera concert, a tacky sweater and holiday movie afternoon, a Valentine’s Day chocolate-themed party, a reception and student jazz concert, and a BBQ, beer, and bluegrass evening.
In 2004, the Bernard Osher Foundation began its 20-year relationship with the University of Richmond as it initiated its financial support of a lifelong learning institute on campus. The Foundation’s generosity began with start-up funds, then grew to a $1 million endowment when the institute showed sustainable growth in membership and programming.
Twenty years later, UR’s Osher Institute boasts more than 350 noncredit courses and events annually for more than 1,700 members.
