Celebrating SPCS Student Week March 2-6
The School of Professional and Continuing Studies celebrates its students during SPCS Student Week, March 2-6.
SPCS Student Week is a joint project of the SPCS Student Government Association (SGA), SPCS Alumni Association and the staff of the SPCS Marketing & Engagement team. The weeklong celebration serves as an outreach and engagement effort to connect with, encourage, and motivate students.
This year, the School is featuring two activities: SPCS Commencement Award Nominations and SPCS Game Night at the Robins Center.
Commencement Award Nominations are due the first day of the celebration week, on March 2. Students have the opportunity to nominate a graduating student to receive the Jean H. Proffitt Student Services Award, recognizing a student for their service to the School. Student also nominate an adjunct faculty member to the receive the Itzkowitz Family Distinguished Adjunct Faculty Award, recognizing an adjunct instructor for excellence in teaching and engagement with students.
Game Night at the Robins Center is held on Tuesday, March 3, when the Dayton Flyers basketball team take on our Richmond Spiders. Due to popular demand, the event is already sold out. The basketball watch party is held in one of the hospitality suites in the Robins Center, providing both a birds-eye view of the action on the court and a buffet dinner with drinks. Tickets are discounted to ensure students and alumni are able to participate.
There are additional activities on campus throughout the week, and students attending in-person classes on campus also receive swag and snack bags in their classes.
SPCS Student Week is one of several ways we aim to celebrate the inspirational work of our students, who manage their personal, professional, and academic schedules with grace and positivity.
