January 9, 2026

SPCS Faculty Update

Faculty in the School of Professional & Continuing Studies celebrated promotion announcements and service awards during the annual awards ceremony held during the spring faculty meeting on January 8, 2026.

Associate Dean Kate Cassada and Dean Jamelle Wilson presided over the announcement of service awards for five, ten, fifteen, twenty, twenty-five and thirty years.

Wilson announced two special service recognitions. First, she recognized Andrew Schoeneman, outgoing Nonprofit Studies program chair, for his service to the School and the Nonprofit Studies program, and announced he would be pursuing an opportunity at another institution. Second, she recognized Dean Emeritus Jim Narduzzi for thirty years of service to SPCS.

Wilson also recognized adjunct faculty members who earned promotions, then announced the winners of the SPCS Innovations in Teaching Award: Adjunct Instructors of Information Systems and Data Analytics (and brothers) Terry Turner and Scott Turner. Following brief recorded remarks from Scott and in-person remarks from Terry, Wilson closed the recognition portion of the event by announcing two updated faculty roles: Grant Rissler, Assistant Professor of Organizational Studies, has been appointed the incoming Nonprofit Studies program chair; and Bruce McKechnie, Adjunct Associate Professor of Paralegal Studies, has been hired as program coordinator for the Paralegal Studies program.
