Complete your degree entirely online
Our online degree-completion program is a cohort-based major in Interdisciplinary Studies that enables qualified applicants to complete a degree in just over two years. Classes are offered entirely online, at your own pace — no required in-person classes, ever — and students focus on 2 courses at a time in 15-week terms. The program is offered by the School of Professional & Continuing Studies through the University of Richmond’s learning management system.
Complete a degree started elsewhere
Transfer your associate’s degree or equivalent 60 semester hours from another regionally accredited institution. Then complete the remainder of your degree, another 60 hours over 10 courses, at the University of Richmond. You’ll be able to enroll as a full-time student while taking courses during fall, spring and summer terms.

And our 100% online program makes it easy to fit your classes around your personal and professional schedules! Focus on two classes at a time during 15-week terms in the fall & spring, with a single shorter class each summer. Transfer opportunities
Agreements with Reynolds Community College, John Tyler Community College and Richard Bland College ensure undergraduate transfer credit into our online degree program, and we also accept credit from a wide range of regionally accredited higher education institutions. We also accept CLEP, IB and AP credits, we generally accept ACE-evaluated transcript credit, and we also award credit for prior work experience as documented in a portfolio process. We offer virtual pre-admissions advising appointments to help you prepare.
For less than expected
Our online program offers you the personalized attention and rigorous classes of a private university at a price that compares favorably with a public education. When you transfer 60 semester hours into our online degree, you can complete your bachelor’s degree for $34,500.* Scholarships are available and our bachelor’s degrees qualify for financial aid.
*2023-24 undergraduate tuition: $575/hr x 60 hrs = $34,500. Review annual cost of attendance (COA) for SPCS degree-seeking students.
Application Deadline
The Online Interdisciplinary Studies program admits students in the fall each year, forming a cohort that remains intact throughout the program.
The application deadline for fall is July 15.
