Programs for Educators
Degrees & Initial Licensure
At the University of Richmond, you can earn a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Curriculum & Instruction or Educational Leadership & Policy Studies. You can also earn a post-master’s graduate certificate (GC) in Educational Leadership & Policy Studies.
You can also pursue initial teacher licensure by earning a Master of Teaching (MT), our licensure pathway for applicants with an earned bachelor’s degree. And if you need to finish a bachelor’s degree toward licensure, you can earn a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts (BALA) with a concentration in elementary education.
Licensure: Provisional & Renewal
Our Teacher Licensure Completion (TLC) program provides specialized support for provisionally licensed teachers. And we provide deeply discounted coursework toward licensure renewal, including professional series in instructional coaching, language and literacy, and social emotional learning.

Specializations & Endorsements
You can add VDOE endorsements to your licensure, or you can add a specialization to your résumé, with just a few graduate classes. We offer coursework that can lead to endorsements in Gifted Education, Special Education, English as a Second Language and Educational Leadership. We offer a specialization in Integrated Learning through Partners in the Arts.
