Dr. Charles Sydnor earned his BA in History from Emory & Henry College, and his MA and PhD from Vanderbilt in 1971. He spent an additional years of study at the University of Freiburg in Germany. In addition to a widely cited study of the Waffen SS and articles in various scholarly journals, Dr. Sydnor served for 25 years as an expert witness for the US Department of Justice in cases to denaturalize and deport former SS guards from concentration camps who entered the US illegally after World War II. He has also produced television documentaries devoted to the Holocaust and for 8 years served as President of Emory & Henry College.
