Lifelong Learning at SPCS

Lifelong learning at SPCS seeks to provide what’s known in higher education as a “60 year curriculum” —coursework and programs that meet the needs of high school age students through retired adults. We offer programs in college and career preparation, for international au pairs and English language learners and, through the Osher Institute, for learners ages 50 and better. Programs for Youth

SPCS specializes college and career preparation for high school students. This includes our popular STEPS to Success program, which offers SAT and college life preparation courses along with college and career selection advice and workshops. And we can develop custom solutions for local schools to provide STEPS to Success coursework in schools and remotely.

My son’s SAT score went from a 1380 to 1510 with your SAT Weekend Workshop. He is at Virginia Tech and plans to obtain a master’s degree in math in four years as he had amassed so many credits that he entered as a junior.

We offer courses and custom instructional modules in languages and cultural enrichment. Our language classes are fun, interactive introductions to Spanish, French, Italian and ASL, while our cultural enrichment programs are designed especially for international students, English language learners and international au pairs.

The 60-year Curriculum

Motivated learners, regardless of age, deserve access to affordable learning opportunities. That promise animates multi-generational program development, offering accessible learning opportunities for the sake of learning.
