
Summer Youth Programs
Kaleidoscope
Kaleidoscope is a week-long adventure for Richmond-area high school students. Participants from all over the Richmond area will immerse themselves in topics such as public speaking, visual arts, gaming strategies, or writing workshops. Students choose two different courses for the week by selecting one morning option and one afternoon option. Lunch is included each day in the Heilman Dining Center, along with a variety of afternoon recreational activities in the Weinstein Center and across campus.
Summer Scholars
Summer Scholars is an intensive, two-week commuter program for Richmond-area high school students. The programs is designed to give high school students a first-hand experience of college coursework including the challenges and rewards that come with it. As a Summer Scholar, you’ll choose an exciting academic program and collaborate with leading faculty in your chosen course of study.
S.T.E.P.S. to Success SAT Preparation
S.T.E.P.S. to Success (Strategies & Techniques for Enhancing Performance and Scores) is a Preparatory Program for the SAT Reasoning Test™, offered each summer by the University of Richmond School of Continuing Studies. This unique program will give students an opportunity to gain valuable tools and resources necessary to be prepared on test day. It is specifically designed to introduce important skills, techniques and strategies along with an abundance of practice and review; critical areas requiring focus for success on test day.
Summer School Classes for High School Students
The University of Richmond invites highly qualified high school juniors to accelerate and enrich their academic background by enrolling in college-level Summer School courses for full credit. All first-year courses (without prerequisites) are open to those high school students whose scholastic achievement and aptitude clearly indicate preparedness for such work. Students will enroll as Summer School students subject to all rules and regulations of the University of Richmond Summer School.
