Special Summer Opportunities
Educators
The School of Professional & Continuing Studies offers several teacher education institutes during the summer. These institutes provide teachers with valuable teaching tools and experiences, and participants are generally able to apply the professional development experience toward teacher recertification. Institutes also offer optional graduate credit in education or humanities.
Friends of the Environment
The School has partnered with Environic Foundation International to offer the Global Sustainability Institute, a week-long learning opportunity examining the 25 most critical global sustainability challenges and ways to create a more just, equitable and healthy future.
Students of All Ages
The Athletic Department offers a full schedule of both boarding and day Summer Athletic Camps that are open to various age brackets. Select the “Camps” link in the main menu.
On campus and at location throughout Virginia, the Reading Skills Programs for Children and Adults are taught by experienced instructors from the Institute of Reading Development.
Additional learning opportunities are available through the Summer Think Again catalog, offering a variety of affordable, non-credit classes that allow participants to explore personal and professional interests.
