Weinstein Properties Story of Virginia Teachers Institutes

Virginia Historical Society • July 10-14 or July 24-28, 2017

In conjunction with the School of Professional & Continuing Studies, the Virginia Historical Society announces its Weinstein Properties Story of Virginia Teachers Institutes for 2017. This week-long institute will be held July 10-14 and repeated July 24-28 and is open to all Virginia public and private school teachers.

These institutes will provide teachers with an overview of the rich history of Virginia from the earliest habitation to the present. In addition, participating teachers will explore the vast collections of the Virginia Historical Society and learn how to teach their students to analyze primary sources and use historical thinking skills.

A refundable deposit of $50 (checks made payable to VHS) is required to enroll; the deposit will be refunded upon completion of the class. Lunches and materials are provided free of charge, and participating teachers will be eligible for CEUs and recertification points.

Select the session that fits your summer calendar. Please apply early as enrollment is limited to 30 teachers in each session.

Registration

You’ll be prompted to create an account to register for the institute of your choice. Online registration is free, but your enrollment remains incomplete until your $50 refundable deposit check is received by VHS. Participants must attend the entire week-long program to receive their deposit refund.

Earn CEUs and educator recertification hours through the School of Professional & Continuing Studies, and study with the experienced staff of the Virginia Historical Society and other specialists. Registration and deposit checks are due no later than July 1, 2017.
