Continuing Education Units

Continuing education units (CEUs) are a way of measuring and officially recognizing the time and effort you have put into your education for your job or profession. As you update your credentials, are in line for a transfer, promotion or evaluation of your current position or want to make a vocational change or explore a new career, the CEUs demonstrate the time, energy and interest you have shown in broadening your horizons.

Some non-credit courses offered for Personal Enrichment, and most non-credit courses offered for Professional Development, qualify for CEUs (Continuing Education Units). One Continuing Education Unit represents ten (10) contact hours of participation in an organized continuing education program. CEUs are measured as whole and fractional units. For example, a course that meets for fifteen hours would be eligible for 1.5 CEUs.

A permanent record of your CEUs will be maintained by the Office of Community and Professional Education and is available upon request by completing a Noncredit Records Request.

Check the course listing description to see if your course(s) award CEUs.
