If you’re seeking professional development to advance your classroom skills or to earn recertificate points (or, as is most likely, some combination of the two), we have several options. Our noncredit learning opportunities include certificates in adjunct teaching, blended learning, online teaching and adult education. These programs are listed below.

Our degree-seeking options include graduate degrees in teacher licensure preparation, educational leadership and policy studies, and curriculum and instruction.

And we also offer reduced-price graduate-level courses for educators who wish to earn 90 recertification points toward relicensure in Virginia.

Description
The Certified Online Instructor (COI) designation is provided to those who successfully complete three courses: Advanced Teaching Online, Designing Online Instruction, and Fostering Online Discussion. Those students wishing to receive the COI designation must complete additional coursework, teach a course online, and receive student evaluation. The tuition of $795 includes registration in the three courses as well as all additional fees and requirements for the Certified Online Instructor.
