Teaching and Testing

Teaching and education are at the heart of what the School of Professional and Continuing Studies does, both at the University of Richmond and in the Richmond community.

Whether you’re a classroom teacher seeking professional development coursework toward recertification or an adjunct professor seeking to improve your pedagogical skills, the School offers courses to meet your needs. And we’ll also help you prepare for examinations that lead to academic and professional credentials. We offer several test and examination preparation programs.

  • Teaching — Teaching adults, teaching online, and teaching as an adjunct in higher education

Test Preparation

  • GRE — Offered by staff in the University’s Academic Skills Center.
  • TOEFL — Offered in conjunction with our Cultural Enrichment program.
  • SAT — Offered by our S.T.E.P.S. to Success program
  • LEED Green Associate — Prepare yourself to take the Green Associate exam and earn the LEED Green Associate credential
  • SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP — Coursework offered in conjunction with the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) to prepare for certification exams
  • Certified Financial Planner™ — Online certification preparation program for the CFP designation
