Our Self Improvement and Wellness classes aim to help students maintain and improve their interior and exterior health and wellness. Topics include stress management, personal renewal, meditation techniques, exercise, first aid and balancing life responsibilities for health.

Stress isn't the enemy. It is our perceptions of stress that amplify our anxiety and use up all our steam. Potentially stressful events happen every day. How we interpret those events can set the stage for how we feel and how we react to others. Reducing stress is as easy as understanding what stress is, understanding what stress is to you, and using that knowledge to restructure your thoughts. Turn stress into a stepping stone, not a stumbling block!

Telecommuting Basics: Maximizing Productivity as a Remote Employee

This course provides an introduction to telecommuting, including helping you determine whether telecommuting is right for you, given the type of job you have and the tasks involved. It also provides information that will be useful for helping you set up your home office so you can be as productive as possible. You will learn about some of the challenges telecommuting presents, and some solutions that will help you create and maintain a productive remote work environment.

Description
adventURes: Summer Adventures in Recreation & Wellness is a fun-filled, on-the-go day camp where students can experience with peers a different off-site trip each day. Campers will participate in several outdoor activities through our partners and engage in experiential learning to develop knowledge, leadership, and a sense of community. adventURes introduces campers to healthy behaviors that can lay the foundation for lifetime activities that will promote an active lifestyle. Each day will originate at the UR Weinstein Center for Recreation and Wellness, with excursions to off-campus venues. For ages 12-16; students must be at least 12 and under 17 by the first day of camp. NOTE: Students may register for only one week of adventURes.
