Apply to a Degree Program

Applying to a degree program—graduate or undergraduate—at the School of Professional and Continuing Studies is straightforward.

  • Pick your term below and submit the appropriate online application with your fee ($35 undergraduate, $50 graduate). Weekend College admits students for Fall terms only.
  • Have original transcripts for ALL college-level work sent to the School. You may use the Transcript Request Form for non-UR transcripts.
  • Make arrangements to submit required supporting materials. Requirements vary by program and are detailed in the online application.

Non-Degree Seeking Admissions

Interested in taking a class or two without applying to a degree program? Complete the non-degree seeking application. You’ll be able to register online as soon as your receive your University ID.

  • Certificate (Undergraduate): Post-baccalaureate certificates require a bachelor’s degree
  • Teacher Licensure Preparation (TLP): Course work toward Virginia teacher licensure
Application Deadline

Priority application deadlines ensure acceptance in the selected term ONLY if all application requirements (such as official transcripts, résumé, statement of purpose, recommendations and placement test scores) are received by the admissions coordinator. We will process applications after the priority deadline for the selected term. However, applying after the priority deadline may result in delayed admission and may affect your eligibility for financial aid.

  • Summer I deadline: May 12, 2014 (first day of 6-Week I term)
TLP Application Deadlines

We have rolling admissions for TLP students, which means we process applications in the order in which they are received and consider students for admission when all required documents have been received and the application file is complete.

We recommend completing our online TLP application 4-6 weeks prior to the start of the term to allow for all required materials (including transcripts, PRAXIS scores and/or ACT/SAT scores) to be received and processed. Financial aid awards and/or eligibility and an admissions decision may be impacted and even delayed the longer you wait to apply. However, applications are accepted and considered as long as space is available regardless of the date submitted.

The 6-Week I term starts May 12, 2014.

  • You will have an opportunity to establish application login credentials.
  • You will receive a temporary password by e-mail; please enter a valid e-mail address to which you have immediate access.

You will not be able to access the online application until you receive the temporary password.
